Can you use Itunes without giving credit card information?

I have registered for an account and attempted to log in to my account and it says this account has not yet been used with the itunes store and it leads me through the process of your information and then asks me for my payment method and credit card number, people have said there is a box where you can select "none" for your payment method but I've searched up and down for this box and found nothing any help?
