I hear Coyotes not to far from my house?

I was sitting by our fireplace and heard coyotes in the distance. I went outside to hear them better and kinda get a sense of where they were. They were really loud. Am i or my family in any danger with coyotes around? We have about 7 acres of wooded land, and I love to go back there and just walk around in the day time am i in any danger doing that? Will they attack my dog? HELP!!!
