What's the best way to fix a ceramic plate?

I have a ceramic display plate (not used for eating) with two pieces broken off, and I was wondering what type of glue is best. I know that hot glue isn't the best, so should I use regular elmer's glue. Should just duct tape it in the back. Tips are much appreciated. =)
