What color to paint my kitchen cupboards?

My kitchen is stuck in the 70's. I want to give it a fresh look by painting my kitchen cupboards that are presently a shiny dark brown finish. The backspash is beige tiles, the countertop is also an off white(considering painting that also) My tiles are ceramic, white with tiny specks of black and grey and toupe and mixed with the white every so often is some sage green tile.please help me decide on a color for cupboards, walls countertop.
